Hi, I'm Sarah, and I've been teaching for over a decade. I graduated in 2006 with a degree in Primary Education, but have taught in both Primary, Secondary and FE settings. My resources are primarily aimed at students aged 9-16+, and are mainly resources to be used in English lessons. I try to make resources that can be easily adapted for all types of abilities and ages. I hope you find my resources useful. Used as an initial resource for work on a topic entitled 'All About Me' this resource is really useful to enable students to ask questions about their family. Have used it it with many groups, and with students who are adopted or fostered. It can be a great way of introducing discussion around the topic of families, and their diversity.

Used with students to introduce the idea and give them an understanding of how they can use them in their writing. Easily adaptable and, in my experience, a great way of getting the purposes to ‘stick’ in students’ memories.

This is one way of helping students understand how to plan and draft their work and ideas on presenting a speech. The speech train provides a visual representation of their speech - showing how each section should be linked and how important it is to have a direction and destination for your speech. I enlarged this to A3 before getting the students using it, then it's spacious enough for lots of ideas!
